Harry Kane has broken many records over the past year, but Sunday night at Anfield hailed one of the greatest of them all so far. The Spurs striker left it late on Sunday evening, 95 minutes in fact, but his stoppage-time penalty ensured him of a record every striker can be proud of. Kane now finds himself in some esteemed company by netting his 100th Premier League goal of his career to join the exclusive Premier League ‘100 Club.’

Kane joined the list of stars to have hit 100 top-flight goals since the start of the 1992/93 season. He became the 27th player to have scored a century of Premier League goals. The majority of whom are English, with nine from the likes of Argentina, Ivory Coast and Netherlands.

Household names like Alan Shearer lead the way on 260 career goals in the Premier League with Thierry Henry, Michael Owen and Frank Lampard all finding themselves in the top ten. However, of the twenty-seven players only five of them are still playing in the English top flight. Take a look at the five players below:

Wayne Rooney: Hailed as one of the greatest players of his generation, the Everton man finds himself second on the all-time list behind Shearer with 208 goals. The former Manchester United star is the only player to have surpassed 200 goals as he chases down Shearer’s record of 260. Aged 32, time is against Rooney to topple Shearer but his record will certainly take some stopping as he continues to bag goals for Everton in the Premier League. Impressively, 183 of Rooney’s goals came during his 14 seasons at Manchester United where he moved aged 18.

Jermain Defoe: The striker has generated a reputation as being a natural goalscorer in the Premier League and his goalscoring exploits in the top flight has taken to him to clubs such as West Ham United, Portsmouth Tottenham and Sunderland. Defoe is listed seventh on the all-time list with 161 goals and is looking to add to his tally this season with Bournemouth. Defoe has regularly found the back of the net but has never surpassed twenty Premier League goals in one season. His best return was 18 goals for Spurs in 2009/10. Despite being 35-years old, Defoe has bagged 30 goals over the last two seasons which suggest he still has plenty to offer.

Sergio Aguero: The Manchester City striker is the only foreign player currently playing in the Premier League ‘100 Club.’ Argentinian Aguero lies twelfth on the list with 139 strikes, all of which have been for Manchester City helping the club to lift two Premier League titles. Aguero has netted all of his goals in only 202 appearances to show he has a formidable record in England. He has scored 20+ Premier League goals in four of his last six seasons and appears to be on course to break twenty once more this season with City heading towards a third title crown.

Peter Crouch: The gangly striker is in his twentieth Premier League season and counting. Crouch holds the record for most top-flight headed goals in a career which has so far spanned over six clubs; Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Tottenham and Stoke City. Crouch continues to score goals at the top level and can be found 23rd on the list with 106 goals. The six foot seven striker scored his 100th goal last season in a 1-1 draw with Everton last February.

Harry Kane: The Spurs captain has won the Golden Boot over the past two seasons and is on track for it once more this season in 2017/18. Impressively, 88 of Kane's goals have been scored inside the penalty area, with just 12 being netted from 18 yards or more. The Spurs striker reached the milestone of strikes in just 141 games and will have Shearer’s record on the horizon further down the line in his so far record breaking career. Kane already holds the record for most goals in a calendar year and appears to be well on his way to breaking many more accolades in the Premier League seasons to come to further affirm his reputation as a Premier League great.

Other star players like Emmanuel Adebayor (97), Yakubu (95), Ruud Van Nistelrooy (95), Dennis Bergkamp (87) and Fernando Torres (85) all missed out on the milestone. Romelu Lukaku looks like he will be the next star to join the exclusive list of stars to have netted a century. The Manchester United striker is currently on 97 goals and at the age of 24 he could find himself somewhere near the top of the all-time list if he continues at such a rate.
